Il Buco's 20th Anniversary "Sagra del Maiale" Outdoor Pig Roast 2014
In celebration of il Buco’s anniversary, the beloved Pig Roast will be held on Sunday, September 21. il Buco’s Pig Roast, a tradition that originated with the restaurant’s 10-year anniversary, has been on hiatus since Donna opened her new market/restaurant il Buco Alimentari e Vineria on paralleling Great Jones Street. On Sunday, September 21 from 1 to 6pm, friends, family, and neighbors will gather once again on the cobblestone sidewalk outside il Buco for the feast, while Chef Joel Hough and Argentine “Fire Chef” Francis Mallmann head the roast. Chefs from il Buco’s storied past will also be in attendance including Ignacio Mattos, Thierry Amezcua, Justin Smillie, and others. 
 
Plates will include Flying Pigs Farm’s pork slow-roasted on an infiernillo, porchetta panini, and house-made apple-pork sausages alongside farmers’ market panzanella and pasta Genovese, and finally, ricotta fritters. Tickets are available in advance through Brown Paper Tickets here, and advance prices are as follows: $32/plate incl. wine or beer, and for kids 12 and under, $12/plate including beverage. If purchased on site day of, prices are: $25/plate with beverage sold separately (wine $9, beer $7, bottomless soda/tea $3), and for kids, $12/plate with drink ($3) sold separately.
