Our candle maker, Stefano, works exclusively by hand to produce a type of medieval candle called “duplero” (from the latin “duplex,” or double). This style of 100% beeswax candles with hemp wick have been used in Italy for centuries. Natural scent varies as wild-harvested pollen changes seasonally. Offers purifying effects when burned.

Produced in medieval Umbrian town of Bevagna, these 100% pure beeswax candles are hand-dripped using techniques that date back to the Renaissance. Natural beeswax exudes a subtle scent of honey, offering purifying effects when burned. The dual wick candles create a dramatic flame, with burning times of 1-4 hours depending on candle size.
